"Elementary Quest" is a tribute to the four elements: Earth, Fire, Water, Air. In times of increasing social tensions Ephraim Giepen goes on a sonic journey inwards and towards his great inspiration - nature.
Each track represents one element. The raw material from venturous recording sessions is transformed into new sounds and fused with analog synths and guitar to give the four pieces their individual vibrant feel. Urban drum grooves emerge from inert earth and stones, uncontrolled flames result in psychedelic effects, and gentle drips flow into one another to create vast ambient soundscapes. In a fusion of Downtempo Electronica, Field Recording, Experimental Hip Hop and Organic House Ephraim Giepen creates an elementary and very personal reference in his music by working with samples from his environment as well as merging broad musical influences into an umbrella sound aesthetic.

Inspired by the concept of Elementary Quest, Zacharias Zschenderlein brings the tracks together in four music videos to create an audible and visual synthesis of the elements. In close creative exchange with Ephraim Giepen, he consistently continues his experimental approach. The sequences captivate with unconventional, in-the-moment methods and ZZ's free approach - samples of element-typical nature shots blend and contrast with artificially abstract, partly improvised settings.
